Ron Paul NCR-PAC

Dr. Paul cures apathy!!!

Apathy. That feeling that there is nothing you can do and you really don't care about the end result of a given event. This is precisely how I have felt about US politics in recent times, particularly in reference to the 2008 presidential election. One candidate however, stands out, and that candidate is Dr. Ron Paul.

During college, I took a terrific history class called "The World Since 1945." We covered a variety of subjects, including an in-depth look at all Presidents since the pivotal time following the end of the Second World War. We also discussed how our country left the gold standard in favor of our current "system." I refer to system in quotation marks because I think it is, in fact, a broken joke.

How is it that we print more money out of thin air? There is absolutely nothing to back it up! I was taught “money doesn’t grow on trees.” It just seems lunatic to me. I can only think of one Presidential candidate who even addresses this serious problem and that is Dr. Paul.

Dr. Ron Paul caused me to care again. I heard his message loud and clear, which is, TRUE conservatism. I resent that the Grand Old Party, the party that unified this country back into one whole union, the party that had great leaders like Lincoln and Reagan, my party, has fallen so far off from where it began. How can they be called “conservative” when they blow a surplus budget, ruin foreign relations, and entangle us in dangerous demi-wars without an act of Congress that take thousands of lives, both American and foreign ?

I really look forward to people taking the time to check out all candidates, regardless of party affiliations. To the naysayers who say “he doesn’t have a chance” I say this: a true democracy gives a chance to everybody. This country is ready for serious change and I only see one person who offers it to the American people.

Respectfully Submitted,

Matthew Clites
